A Zoo birthday

Last Saturday we headed to the zoo for Baylie's 6th birthday party.  This was our first time having a birthday there and the boys were pretty excited to be going to the zoo again.  We actually haven't been in a couple of months and Trevor has been wanting to see the animals.

Outside before the party started

The party started at 11:30 and they had a small room set up for the 10 kids with a bagged lunch - hot dog and chips.  Inside the room were a few gators in their tank and an eel.  All of the kids received an animal mask that they were pretty excited to wear.  The boys wore the mask the entire time but the girls only put them occasionally.

Then it was time for the special guest to appear - a parrot.  All of the kids had to be very quiet and sit still. Yeah right with my Trevor.  Everyone looked at me and laughed because they all know Trevor and that he can't be quiet.  The reason to be quiet was so the bird wouldn't take off flying and also the parrot thinks it's a game when you talk and it tries to talk louder than you.  I actually thought that would have been pretty fun,  but I don't think the worker would have thought so.  She was so cautious with the bird - I kept thinking it's a parrot, right?  Trevor actually did really well and was quiet.

Present time and Trevor had to perch himself right on Mr. John's lap.  He love John and thankfully John didn't seem to mind so much.  Baylie took care of Trevor just like a little mom.

We had cake and then headed outside to get the armbands for the train ride.

Well, this particular Saturday was the opening day of the new Butterfly Hollow exhibit so it was VERY CROWDED.  However, they only had to wait about 15 min to ride the train.  A few adults rode too and of course where to Trevor sit - on Mr. John's lap.

Our trip was cut a little short because there was a major storm coming and we didn't want to get caught in it.  I think the kids had a great time even though they didn't get a chance to go see any animals at the zoo.  That's what an annual pass is for, right?
