5-7 weeks to go

Yes, there is a 2 week window in my due date. My doctor doesn't change the due date so they say Aug 18 but when we went for our sonogram on the 18th she said the baby was measuring about 2 weeks early. I don't quite understand why they don't change the due date but I guess they went thru all the school and must know more. Needless to say I am NOT thinking I will go until the 18th, so I'm prepared for the 5th especially since this baby is 5lbs 4 oz.

Brody trying to imitate me for his pictures.

On the 18th, we did the 4D sonogram and it's so amazing!! The baby wasn't being very cooperative because it kept putting it's hand in front of it's face but we were able to get a few good shots. Well, there is one person who knows the sex of the baby - the lady who did the sonogram. She didn't write it down so our doctor doesn't know either because our doctor has a tendency to slip up.

Is it a boy or girl?
Yes, I feel this is our baby looking at us.

Here's the wonderful foot that is pressing up in my belly all the time.

I am feeling pretty good and still doing pretty much everything I've always done. I'm having the stuffy nose issue which I assume is because of being pregnant because it has lasted for about a month now. Jason says I'm not sleeping very soundly at night so of course I'm getting up to go to the bathroom about 3-4 times everynight. Oh the JOY of being pregnant.

So with only 5-7 weeks left, we (I) still have a lot to do. We have made some progress on the office/nursery, but it still is a mess. It's very difficult to just pack everything in boxes because we are running out of room to put the boxes in the garage.

Happy Father's Day

After church on Father's Day, Jason headed off to play golf in the HOT SUN to finish up his 2 day tournament. I guess I couldn't complain since it was Father's Day!! Brody and I headed to the beach to spend time with my parents at a beach house of one of my mom's coworkers who is gone for the summer - convenient, huh?? Brody took his nap on the way over and I THOUGHT he would continue the nap once we got there - but no chance. He knew we were at the beach and was ready to play.

Around 3:00 or so we headed out and my cousin, Charleen and her family stopped by to play as well. Macy is a year or so older than Brody so they were able to play together pretty good. Brody is loving the beach - he doesn't necessarily have to be in the water. We bought him a golf set for the beach and he LOVES it.

It was a great Father's Day and I am very thankful for my dad who has had rough first part of the year. When I look back at the past month or so I realize how God has had His hand in all of this and am so blessed to have my dad. I love him so much and he has always been there for me whenever I needed him. There have been so many times when I have called him at the last minute to watch Brody and he's always been available. I'm so thankful.
The other man in my life has been such a blessing from God. Jason is such a great dad to Brody. I love watching them play together and it's amazing how Brody wants to do everything his daddy does - just like playing golf. I am very thankful to also have a husband who loves the Lord and is leading our family in what the Lord would have us do. I love you Jason and thank Jesus all the time for being the great husband and father that you are!

One of Jason's father's day presents - a new mousepad with 2 golf pictures of him and Brody.

Jason's new "raincoat" from Brody. Leave it to a 2 1/2 year old to tell what the present is "before" they open it. I've learned my lesson that you don't let them help you wrap it.

Jason's Birthday

Last Tuesday, my wonderful husband turned 34. Let me just say how blessed I am to have such a great husband. He has been such a big help during this pregnancy - household chores, helping out with Brody and just trying to understand the hormones of pregnant wife (I don't think one can ever succeed at this one). I never thought being pregnant with a 2 1/2 year old could be so tiring but thank goodness Jason is there to help out.

We celebrated at Carrabba's with his mom and Kim, Tara, Bryan, Cale and of course Brody. For his birthday, Brody and I got him a new pair of sunglasses which of course we had to exchange for a different pair but at least we tried to pick a pair out.
Happy Birthday Jason!!

What are we thinking???

About a month or so ago, Jason and I decided to sub contract out a new addition to our home. We received several quotes from contractors, but thought we could save some money and do it on our own. Contracting out a home is something I've always wanted to do but maybe not when I am 7 months pregnant.

After 2 weeks of waiting for our permits, this past Monday I was able to pick them up. Our plans for the addition is for a playroom and extra room/office since the exisiting office will soon become the nursery. Needless to say since we are just now getting our permits, it won't be ready when the baby comes in about 8 weeks. I'm pretty bummed about that, but I've tried to get over it.

This past weekend, we - Jason - transplanted our hedges around the back patio so we could hopefully save them to replant around the playroom. This was very manual labor and I felt sorry for him since he did all by himself with 7 month pregnant girl just watching and offering assistance when I could. Did I mention that it felt as if it were 110 degrees outside? Now that we have the hedges in pots, I think they are dying even though we are trying to water them everyday. It sure would stink to have them die after all of Jason's hard work.

People always said that you will run into unforseen issues when building and of course we already have. Hopefully these will all work out just with a little set back and behind schedule. I hope I don't get too stressed out with getting behind schedule. Unfortunately I don't have any before pictures, but there will definitely be pictures of our progress.

An Ollie Koala birthday party

Last Saturday, Brody went to Bradyn's 3rd birthday party at Ollie Koala's. This was the second time Brody's been to Ollie Koala's and he loved it the first time. I wasn't sure how I would handle this time since I would be flying solo and being 7 months pregnant. Thank goodness Brody can't get out of the building unless I'm with him. I still felt I had to follow him around most of the time so he didn't go up crash someone's game.

He loved all the rides and games, however, he must have some A.D.D because he doesn't want to stay at the ride or game until it ends and is ready to move on to the next thing.

Baylie and Brody enjoying pizza and of course Brody all about the food and not looking at the camera. It was however, difficult to get him to go and eat since all he wanted to do was play the games.

Riding the plane.

He loved the air hockey game.

He loved the bumper boats even though all he did was go around in circles.

First Sunday potty trained

Here's our cute boy on his first Sunday at church with big boy pants on. I am having to learn how to pack differently now - a change of clothes and extra big boy pants but NO diapers - WOO HOO!! He did pretty good - 2 small accidents but of course I only brought one extra pair of big boy pants. The second accident was at Wendy's so he had to go commando at Wendy's.

Big Boy Bed

Last weekend, we thought it was probably time to move Brody into his big boy bed since the baby would be here in about 9 weeks. We wanted to make sure he had enough time to adjust. Why not do 2 big boy things in the same month :) He has the convertibile furniture so we just had to buy the rails and a mattress. Who knew mattresses would be so expensive? It's not like Brody needed a pillow top matress!! Thank goodness we found one that was discontinued so it was half off.

We really talked up the big boy bed and he was so excited about it. He even helped daddy put it together. As we put him to bed that night he actually stayed in his bed and didn't even try to get out. He slept all night in his bed and in the morning he didn't even get out by himself - he just called out for us and said he needed to go potty. What a sweet boy!! One more big boy thing down

10 weeks and counting

I cannot believe this baby will be here in less than 10 weeks. The problem is that I am NO WHERE near ready. The baby's room (office) still is FULL of "stuff" - mostly PartyLite stuff. I am trying to get rid of as much as I can but it seems to be getting worse before it gets better. I get so discouraged when I walk in there, but I know it will all work out somehow.

When I went to the doctor for my checkup, she said I was actually measuring 2 weeks early which would make my due date around Aug 5. Of course this made me even more nervous seeing that I'm not ready at all. The poor baby has no bedding picked out. However, I did finally make the furniture purchase so it's just waiting on it to come in. We are going for the 32 week 4D sonogram so I'm anxious to see what the due date will show. It's pretty funny that she said I was measuring 2 weeks early because at the beginning of this pregnancy, the computer said my due date was Aug 5.

As for how I'm feeling - it's a little different then I remember with Brody. I feel that this one is lower and sometimes I feel I need the maternity support belt :) This baby is moving a lot more then I remember with Brody and of course I have the lovely restless leg syndrome I struggle with this without being pregnant so of course it's WORSE with pregnancy. If you aren't familiar with this - it is when your legs cannot get comfortable and eventually will jump. It's the wierdest thing - I thank my mom all the time for this lovely "syndrome" since I inherited it from her. Thank goodness for Tylenol PM to help me get a good night sleep.

Since Brody was a pretty quick delivery they say this could be even faster - now that makes me feel good - not really. It really makes me nervous that I won't get to the hospital in time for an epidural - that stuff is a miracle drug. With all of this said, I'm realizing that it's time to hand all of this over to God and trust in Him to handle everything. "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart" - "Cast your care upon Him for He cares for you".

First beach trip

Since being in the house all weekend long (a couple of weeks ago), I was desperately wanting to get. I decided to head to the beach for our first trip this summer, but I thought it would be fun to have Sara Lynn, Tyler, and Jenny Beth Ard join us as well. Sara Lynn and Tyler were actually our flower girl and ring bearer in our wedding so I can't believe they are 14 years old now. WOW!! Brody loves being around them and they were a HUGE help at the beach.

I wasn't sure how Brody would handle the water since he HATES getting his face wet in the bath tub. Last year all he really did was play in the sand so of course that's where he started. Once the Ards hopped in the water, Brody wasn't too far behind. He absolutely loved it and didn't mind the water in his face. He would lay in the water on his stomach and say he was swimming and when he stood he was surfing. The water was a little rough but it didn't stop him. He wanted to be right out there with them - no matter how deep it was. Yes, this got a little difficult to handle at times. I quickly realized that it would be very difficult for me to handle him by myself at the beach being 7 months pregnant. Definitely the Ards will be joining us for our next beach outing.

After the beach, we had to stop by the playground - no beach trip is complete without this. He loved it. I told him we would get a chocolate milkshake on the way home, however, as he fell asleep in the Dairy Queen drive thru he was still saying chocolate milkshake - I ate a blizzard for him though. He loved it. BTW, he wore his big boy pants all day and didn't have an accident. I was one proud mom!!

A much needed weekend

After a VERY successful potty training weekend which meant not going ANYWHERE the entire weekend, I was desperate to go somewhere the upcoming Saturday. Thankfully, Jason didn't have a golf tournament and also bailed on other golf plans so we could all 3 do something together. We (I) decided to head to the beach since Brody loved it earlier in the week.

Brody played in the sand and then we headed in the water. The water was a little calmer that day so he was able to stand up better when the water hit him. He also found the paddle ball set we brought and wanted to play "tennis". We attempted at that but he kept swinging it like a golf club - I guess golf is more his sport.

After a few hours of the beach we headed back to Nana's house so Brody could take a nap and I went off to the Ponte Vedra Spa for a well needed maternity massage. I don't usually get a massage but I had a maternity one with Brody and it was WONDERFUL so of course this child couldn't get cheated :) My doctor suggested I have my massage there since I am struggling with Restless Leg Syndrome and of course I had to obey doctor orders. They had remodeled the spa and it was absolutely beautiful - and I felt so pampered. I could probably get used to that type of treatment, now if I just had the money to spend there. After the 50 minute massage I headed down the street for a pedicure. I settled on a much cheaper pedicure then at the PVSpa since I'm not such a big fan of pedicures - I just can't seem to relax.

We ended the night with dinner at Outback and then some shopping at Towne Center. What a great day with the family. I really enjoy these types of days.
