Brody's End of the Year Celebration

Wednesday, May 21, was Brody's end of the year awards ceremony and party.  What a busy day because Trevor's party was also the same day but thankful that Nini and Papa took that one.

All of the 1st graders in the cafeteria.

Brody received several  awards that morning:

Meeting his AR (Accelerated Reader) goal all 4 nine weeks.  He worked so hard the last nine weeks to make sure he met it and boy was he excited when he reached it.

He had one of the highest AR averages.

And the final award was All A Honor Roll all year!!

We are so proud of our big guy and all of his accomplishments this past year in 1st grade.

The end of Baseball!!

I think we were all ready for baseball season to come to a close.  I really enjoyed it but it was time to move on.  Trevor enjoyed the season but was definitely ready for it to be over since he would start asking when the game would be over when we were in the first inning.  He hit the ball a few times off Jason's pitch and was really excited.  He even stopped the ball a couple of times and threw the ball to 1st base to get someone out (even though in this tball league it doesn't matter).  He was beyond excited and would keep asking "did you like when I threw that ball?"

I think he enjoyed playing catcher the best - probably because he could kind of sit down since he didn't really catch the ball :)

At the end of every game, all of the kids huddle and a game ball is given out.

Trevor received the game ball twice during the season and was SOOOO excited.  This kid plays for the trophy!!

For the last game, the coaches had all of them huddled around for one last talk.

The coaches then came out and bombed them with silly string.

Trevor's second game ball was the last game of the season and he was all proud.

This is how most of our games ended at the house - something cold and in this case Italian Ice.

As I look back at my pictures I realize I didn't have that many of Brody playing.  Feeling like a bad mom right now!!  I'll get better.

Children's Choir Presentation

Friday, May 16 Brody and Trevor participated in our church's annual Children's Choir presentation.  This is like a dinner theater where the children are our entertainment.

All ready to sing

A few pictures with their friends before the show.

These 2 are something else.  Nate and Trevor are in Sunday School together and were even in the same VPK class this past year.

Brody and Molly - she is one of the sweetest girls.

Nash (Nate's brother) and Carl

This is the K4 - 1st grade choir.  I love Trevor's face in this picture.  He is ready to sing.  There were a lot of hand motions to be done during the 2 songs they performed, however, Brody and Nash and sometimes even Carl weren't in the mood to do any hand motions.  Too cool for school!!

They then added in the 2nd - 5th grade choirs for 1 or 2 songs - still no hand motions from Nash and Brody.

Nana came out to hear these 2 sing.

After they sing, they receive medals for participating in choir this past year.  I wish I had been able to get my video camera in time for his reaction when his name was called to receive his medal.

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day morning I was woken with 2 giddy little boys who couldn't wait for me to open my present.  They had signs showing me the way to where it was.

What's better than homemade wrapping paper?

My new Ninja blender.  I have been drinking a smoothie every morning and my 13 year old blender was giving me a fit so I couldn't wait to try this out.

A quick selfie with my boys just in case we wouldn't get a more formal picture after church.

At our church this year on Mother's Day we had Baby Dedication and I was asked to take pictures of the families dedicating their children.  It was such a sweet time to see about 7 families dedicate their children to the Lord.  This act was making a commitment that the parents would raise their child with Godly counsel.

I arrived a little early to get my camera on the right settings and had a couple of crazy models.

Mom and I have decided that we just enjoy going out for lunch on Mother's Day.  Jason offered to cook, but somehow I feel that I still have clean up so we prefer to go out.  This year we chose Newk's - nothing fancy because we also don't want a long wait.

A Mother's Day isn't complete without a trip to Dick's right?

Jason asked what I wanted for dinner and I chose to make a smoothie out of new blender.  Oh it is so nice and easy and fast.  The smoothie was really good too - a great way to get some spinach and lots of fruits in every day.  A great way to end my Mother's Da
