Yo Ho Ho

Wednesday night we picked up Jason from work around 3:15 and headed down to St Augustine for a fun filled evening on the water - pirate style.  I had always heard about the Black Raven Pirate Ship and how much fun the kids have on it.  Well, since our boys LOVE everything pirates right now, what a perfect time to try it out.

The ship set sail at 6:15, so we were able to grab something to eat before hand at Harry's right on the water downtown.  It was such a nice night outside so we chose to sit outside in the garden (and maybe the kids would be better).  Well, they were ok, but of course didn't eat anything and we had to rush through eating our dinner because the food took awhile to come out and we had to make sure to not miss our boat.  So, at 5:55 I got up and left with Brody and pretty much ran to the marina leaving Jason to pay the bill and hurry along with Trevor.

We were 2nd to the last group getting on the boat - whew, just made it.

We settled in our seats in the middle of the boat and listened to a couple of pirates go through the rules, what all a pirate does on the boat, a little sword fighting and gun shooting and some singing.  The boys seemed to love all of it and we were able to mingle around the boat some too.

Our view

Towards the end, they offered face painting and Trevor quickly wanted his face painted - Brody wasn't so eager.  But of course once Trevor got his, Brody wanted his done.  He couldn't let his little brother out do him.  After about an hour and a half on the water, we landed back at the dock.

The boys said it was a very good surprise and of course Trevor kept singing the pirate song - "Yo, ho, ho, ho a pirate's life for me".

Of course a trip to St. Augustine isn't complete without a walk down St. George St and even a quick trip to Savannah Sweets.  The boys were both asleep by the time we arrived home, which made it pretty easy to get them right into bed (yeah I know NO bath, but every now and then it's ok, right?)
