Congratulations Seniors

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a week ago was a very busy week because it was our High School Senior celebration dinner and then taking them to St Augustine for the week.  Jason and I co teach with Randy and Julie Thompson and this is a highlight of their's and our year.

This year we decided to have the dinner at the church with Olive Garden catering it.  The dinner was for the seniors and their parents and we had about 50 RSVP.  The dinner was set up in several classrooms in our chapel.  This of course meant Julie and I had to decorate a little on Wednesday, the night of the dinner.  Here's our outcome - nothing too fancy but it worked.

Also part of our celebration is putting together a video of baby pictures of each of our seniors - thank goodness for my Mac - it makes the video pretty easy to put together.  Here are all of our seniors.

On Thursday we all headed down to St Augustine to our huge ocean front beach house that sleeps 20 people.  We were responsible for 15 teenagers that weekend who were all really excited.  Thanks to my mom and dad for keeping the boys for us.  I know it was hard because Trevor wasn't feeling 100%, but mom and dad survived and we are very thankful for them to be so willing to keep them.

This house was built in 1928 and had not been rented out since 1960 - oh my and we are taking 15 teenagers to this house.  One of the statements inside the house said "she's old, treat her gently"

Randy grilling hamburgers and hotdogs.  Usually Jason is helping him, but Jason didn't get off work Thursday until about 8:30.

Playing some corn hole in front of our very blue house.

Enjoying the beach on Friday

We even had our own "maid".  Within 3 hours of being in the house, Dalton couldn't stand the sand on the floor and was sweeping away.

Friday evening we went into downtown St Augustine to play our version of Amazing Race.  We split all of the students into 3 teams, give them 1 clue to come and find Julie and I which is where they receive the remaining clues.  They are to get a picture at each place with them all in the picture and they receive extra points for strangers they pull into their picture.  It is definitely a highlight of their trip and they have so much fun.  Here is this year's winner - all girls!!

After a full day of sun on Saturday, we headed back to the church around 7:00.  We had such a good time during this weekend.  It's always an enjoyable time just hanging out with these teenagers.
