House Projects - COMPLETED

I love doing house projects or at least having them done which is the case lately. Since we finished our addition last year, our patio was looking quite sad and needed some TLC. We knew we wanted a pergola built but of course had to wait until the right time aka "money". Finally a couple of months ago we were able to have the pergola built which also included repaving the deck (making it bigger). I am SOOOO excited with the outcome. My very sweet and workhorse of a dad did the painting for us. I love that he is retired. He's the best. Now that the mosquitos have somewhat quieted down, I can't wait to have dinner out on our new patio.

This was our first meal out there - nothing but the best - hotdogs. I even have some fancy new plates, tablecloth, & basket - found in the Target clearance section. Can't wait to break them out.

Well, now that we have been in our house for almost 9 years, we thought it was time for the spare/boys' bathroom to have a makeover.
Here's the before picture. I thought it was pretty contemporary - 9 years ago but was definitely in need of a makeover.

Here's the start of the wonderful transformation. I'm not much of a painter but I really wanted to try. It didn't take long before I gave in and let my dad do it - especially after I tried 1 coat of orange- it looked awful.

It took a little bit of convincing Brody that we were NOT going to have a Buzz Lightyear bathroom. I have to draw the line somewhere, I mean this is also a guest bathroom so we went with monkeys. I'm so happy with the results and Brody is even proud of his new bathroom as well.

Please excuse the yellow towel hanging on the door - I should have taken it down for the picture but oh well.
