A SeaWorld weekend

Yes, I have been out of the blogging loop for a couple of weeks now - let's just say BUSY!!!!!

A couple of weeks ago, Jason and I took Brody to SeaWorld for the first time. We left Thursday after work. Brody did great on the 2 1/2 hour trip - thank goodness for a DVD player. We stayed at the Embassy Suites on I Drive and Brody's favorite thing was the elevator since you can see it go up and down from the inside of the hotel. We took the pack n play for him to sleep in and when we opened it we realized he is getting quite tall so this would definitely be the last time he slept in it. It wasn't the time to let him start sleeping in the bed with us - he's always slept in his crib.

We got up Friday morning and headed to SeaWorld. He loved his blue wagon that we rented. The first show we saw was the sea lion show - 10 minutes into it he was stating LOUDLY that we wanted to get out - to his defense the show was pretty boring. We then headed for the Shamu show since this is what he has been talking about for the past 2 weeks. He did great for the entire thing - our bag was stuffed with jelly beans and pretzels to keep him occupied as well.

We were a little nervous how he would be with the big characters, but he went right up to Shamu for his picture.

Feeding the sting rays.

Can you see Shamu in the background?

I think we could have stayed in the Kiddie section the entire time - he rode the merry go round and the swishy fishies (like tea cups). He would have ridden the Shamu roller coaster but we thought it was too big for him. He and Jason climbed all in the big playground - I was very thankful I was pregnant so I didn't have to climb up in all that. Brody was having a blast.

Look at that grin - he really enjoyed this. He must get this from his daddy because I can't stand these things.

Our plan was to go back to the hotel to let him take a nap but it got to be 2:30 and we thought it would be best to just get his stroller from the car and let him nap in the park - it would save us time. While he slept Jason was able to ride the roller coaster since I couldn't join him with my big belly. He slept for about 1 1/2 hours and woke up in a great mood. He loved the penguin encounter and the dolphin show. There was a pet show that had these rescued pets doing lots of tricks - it kept his attention for the most part. We left around 7:30 and headed to dinner.

So ready for a nap and really not wanting his picture taken.

Out like a light!!

Watching the penguins.

He was so tired that night and was extremely giddy. He sacked out and he didn't wake up on Sat until about 9:00 - so much for an early start but he needed his sleep. We headed back to the park to catch the few things he missed - turtles, manatees, penguins again. He was a little tired and getting cranky - he even fell out on the floor crying in the whale exhibit - of course I took a picture

We headed home around 3:00 and he passed out in the car within 10 minutes and slept until we were 30 minutes from home. He had a blast and of course talked about Shamu coming out of the water and reenacts the show with the Shamu animal we bought.

  1. Sounds and looks like you guys had a blast! I can't stand the "circle" rides either, lol. You mentioned taking a pic of Brody pitching a fit in the whale exhibit but you didn't post it!
