Dr. Seuss is 109

The last week of February, Brody's school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday.  Each day they were asked to wear a different color.

Monday was blue day.

Tuesday was green day. Wednesday was yellow day which happened to be Brody's field trip so they all wore their yellow shirts.  Thursday was red day

Friday was wear as many colors as possible - nothing crazy for him, just an angry bird shirt that had a lot of colors in it.

To celebrate Dr. Seuss week, I made some cute little snacks for the kids.  Of course the idea came from Pinterest and they were some of the easiest to make.

All it took was a pack of Oreos where I took one of the chocolate cookies off and stored those for some other dessert I might make - the possibilities are endless.  Then I used a little white icing to adhere red gummies to the creme and then alternated white icing and red gummies to make Dr. Seuss' hats.  They were a huge hit with the kids.

During the week, Mrs. Proffit had the students write about Oh the Places They Would Go, which is the title of a Dr. Seuss book.  I had no idea about this, until she text me a copy of what Brody had written.  I was blown away and couldn't believe it.  I was so proud of his writing skills - not just how well he wrote but the content of the paper.

Here's the translation in case you can't read it.

"Oh, the places I'll go!  I want to go to Africa because I want go on a mission trip there.  I can teach people English.  I can even meet animals.  I will meet zebras and giraffes.  I will teach people about God."

Mrs. Proffit has these displayed on the wall outside her classroom in a very cute way.

I am so proud of Brody and how well he is doing in school.  I pray that his heart continues like this.
