Busy and blessed Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday represents everything that we as Christians believe - as Brody and Trevor say "He's Alive"!!  I love this time of year and hearing Brody tell the story about Jesus going to the cross for our sins and on the 3rd day raising from the dead.  What is even sweeter is now he is telling Trevor the whole story - so sweet.

Sunday mornings around our house are always crazy so Easter Sunday morning is of course crazier since the Easter bunny visits our house.  They of course want to eat all the candy they can, but we tried to limit the candy at least in the morning.

MONEY!!!

Jason was involved in our church's Easter musical that morning which we had a packed house for - Praise the Lord!!  The choir did a great job portraying the Miracle of Easter.  Brody didn't have children's church so he sat with me in church and he did great.  He kept asking where was Jesus and then when he saw him he asked, "are they really going to kill him?"  Amazing what little kids think.

We had my parents and Jason's mom's side of the family over for lunch and egg hunt.  The best thing I do for Easter lunch is to purchase a Honey Baked Ham.  It makes my life so much easier.

The kids were ready for the egg hunt so off we went to my parents yard since they have a lot of shade.  All lined up and ready - youngest to oldest.

They were each to find 16 eggs and when Brody found his he yelled out "I'm the champion"  He was then off to the blanket to check out his loot.

Trevor actually found about 20 or so - he lost count.

Once the hunt was over the kids were off to the tire swing.  My dad was the chosen one or he just wanted to swing them.  They had a blast.

This has got to be one of my favorite pictures ever.

Later that afternoon, Nini brought over the boys Easter presents - rain boots and some new clothes.  The rain boots were a hit is an understatement.

Wow, what an Easter we had -  Celebrating the Lord's day with family!!  Happy Easter!!

The Thursday before Spring Break was Brody's Easter party at his school.  They were having an egg hunt and of course lots of food.  My parents were out of town that day so of course I had to find someone to keep Trevor because I could not imagine taking him with me.  Thankfully I dropped him off at one of our normal babysitter's house so her sister could keep him.  Trevor had never met her but that didn't matter to him because he went right in and said "bye mama".

When I arrived to the party, Ms. Cicero was having each child stand up and spell a word - Brody spelled tub with no problem.  We then sat down and made these cute birds in a nest.  Brody ate the entire thing and left me nothing. :)  They also made a cute bunny.

It was then time for the kids to tell us the real reason we celebrate Easter using the Resurrection Eggs.  It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen.  Each child would stand up and go to the front with Ms. Cicero and explain what their egg meant.  Brody had the passover cup and knew exactly what it was used for.  Each child did such a great job and I teared up when it was all over and one of the little girls opened up the last egg and said "He's Alive".  I am so thankful for a school like Sonshine where Christian teaching is taught.  Brody is learning so much!!

It was then off for the egg Hunt.  They were allowed to find 13 each and Brody was off and running.  After he found his 13 he helped Nick find some - such a good friend.  They all had a blast.

Pumpkin Patch

Our annual trip to the pumpkin patch is always an adventure.  It's usually our chance to get decent pictures of the boys as well as the family - well I really should learn to not get my hopes up with 2 boys.  Somehow, this year it slipped up on me and I didn't have much for the boys to wear but thankfully Jason was able to go to the mall during lunch and find something - phew!!

The kids were pretty excited to get there and no trip to the pumpkin patch with 2 boys is complete without some running around (parents telling them to STOP running), falling down, fingers in a rotten pumpkin (Trevor only) and constantly saying LOOK at the camera.

Thankfully we got a few ok pictures and of course came home with a few pumpkins.

Oh yeah, one of my favorites.

After our visit we stopped to eat in San Marco at The Loop and a quick trip to Peterbrooke Chocolate right next door - YUMMY!!  On our way back to the car they wanted to "dance" in the center area.  What a cute little sight.  They were having so much fun introducing each other.

It was a great time and the boys had a blast which makes me very happy.
