Jason’s cousin Kyle and his family arrived Saturday
afternoon to stay with us. Jason’s Aunt Janice and her husband were staying
with my parents, which worked out great.
Here were the sleeping arrangements.
Brody, Trevor and Rubye Grace (the oldest of Kyle’s) slept
on air mattresses in the playroom. Boy
am I thankful for this room.
Kellan (the youngest) slept in Trevor’s room and Kyle and
Nan along with Dellah had Brody’s room.
It all worked out so well and it was a lot of fun having everyone over.
Saturday night we all headed to mom and dad’s to go swimming
and grill out. It was great to have
somewhere for the kids to play and they had a blast. However, Trevor and Kellan are about a year
apart and they DID NOT get a long well.
It was too funny to watch.
Sunday was the viewing and when all the family would come to
our house to get everything ready. Check out all of the great grandkids (minus Baylie on the end) with all of their electronics.
We
were so thankful for Aunt Joyce’s church who provided food for all 52 of us
that evening after the viewing. There is
a ministry at their church in Green Cove Springs who provides food for all
their church family who have deaths in their family as well as they provide for
families in their community who don’t have a church family – what a great
outreach!! It was such a great feeling
to know that we didn’t have to worry about food especially since everyone was
coming to my house.
I am so thankful for my parents who helped out so much
during this time. They left the viewing
and came to the house to get everything out and ready for everyone. I couldn’t have done it without them.
We set up the new room with tables, which worked out
perfectly.
After everyone was gone Sunday night, there was a little late night card game – a family favorite.
Despite the circumstances, it was a great weekend with
everyone to celebrate the life of a very special woman.
