A few weeks ago, we headed to the big town of Albany, GA for my mom's mom side of the family reunion. We weren't too excited about going to Albany, GA - what can you say about south GA - KNATS!!! But we were excited to see the family. We left on Friday afternoon and thankfully the boys slept for a couple hours of the drive.
Saturday morning we spent some time at the hotel pool before we headed to lunch. Brody was having a blast with his cousins.
Mom and Aunt Yvonne - my grandmother's sister.
Brody and Macy chowing down on some blueberries from Aunt Yvonne. This is how Brody remembers Aunt Yvonne because last year she brought him blueberries and he LOVES them.
The main part of our reunion was Saturday afternoon when we met up with the family for lunch at Blackbeards - a seafood/steakhouse and everything else you could imagine. There was about 70 of us there. Out of 11 brothers and sisters, sadly there are 3 remaining but we are trying to keep this going for as long as possible.
Here we are at Blackbeards. For all you new moms - check out the orange spoon I have. This was the best thing ever and only about $7. It holds a jar of baby food and is great for eating out. It's made by Boon.
My sweet Uncle Bill - grandmother's brother.
Big Brody and Little Brody.
All of our family - my mom's sister and her brother.
It's quite a challenge having 2 boys this year - last year I was about 3 weeks from giving birth and it was HOT!!! There is just so much stuff to carry along now. I felt like I was packing for a week.
Matching cousins.
Saturday night we (minus Trevor) headed out with some of our family to Mellow Mushroom. Brody absolutely loved hanging with his 2 girl cousins - Rachel & Samantha. They just took him under their wing and he thought he was such a big boy. He proved he was a big boy that night because he stayed out until about 11:30 - in the restaurant and he was VERY good. We were so proud of him.
The 2 girls in the front are Rachel & Samantha who Brody loved hanging out with.Sunday morning we said our goodbye's and headed home. We are already planning the reunion next year - probably not in Albany, GA.
