A spooky zoo

On Thursday before Halloween we headed to the Spooktacular at the zoo with John, Tracy & Baylie. This was our first time and we weren't sure what to expect. We were hoping it wouldn't be too crowded since we were going on a weekday - we were wrong!!

We walked around the spooky path and got candy at the several candy stations. It was quite difficult to have too much fun because we were constantly trying to make sure we had a hand on Brody since it was so dark. However, I think Brody and Baylie still had fun.

I really wanted the boys to dress up together for Halloween - so I (thanks to the Ards) came up with a tennis player and a tennis ball. The tricky part was that I had to make Trevor's tennis ball outfit - I AM NOT A SEWER!!! For about 2 weeks prior to Halloween I worked on this outfit. My supplies were yellow fleece, no sew adhesive, polyfil, and velcro tabs. I cut out about 6 oblong shaped pieces and glued them together in a ball shape and then filled with polyfil. The key to making it look like a tennis ball was the word PENN on the side - thanks to Jason our real tennis player. I was very happy with how it turned out.

I think Trevor really liked the costume because he slept really good in it that night.

Brody of course was the tennis player with his white shorts, shirt & headband. He was supposed to wear a wig but he wasn't in to it that night.

After the zoo, we all headed to Chili's to eat. You never know how Brody will do in a restaurant especially since it was so late.. However, thanks to an iphone with games and being around Baylie he did great. Trevor even laid down on the seat and took a nap. Nothing like dinner at 10PM with 2 3 year olds and 3 month old. Fun Times!!
